Relationship Between Racial Identity, Enculturation and Dietary Health 

  • Conducted research on the role of culture, identity and diet and its intertwining impact in an African American student population in a university-setting compared to non-student African Americans in the Sanford-Daytona-Orlando Metropolitan area.
  • Presented research at the Southeaster Psychological Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
  • Presented at the Stetson University Senior showcase.

A Forgotten Population: Examining Reproductive Rural Healthcare                  

  • Conducted research integrating the archaeological, ethnohistoric, and ethnographic literature surrounding Black American women’s reproductive healthcare accessibility in rural south.
  • Interviewed mothers who gave birth during their teenage years as well as those who gave birth in adulthood.
  • Conducted Geographic Information Systems analysis to quantify accessibility for Black mothers in Atmore, Alabama
  • Presented findings at the Integrating Anthropology: Shifting Perspectives Conference at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL

  • Develop and organized a COVID friendly virtual summer camp for teenage girls between 8th and 12th grade that included internships with large organizations like Lockheed Martin and University of Alabama at Birmingham Adolescent Health Department.

  • Develop and organize sessions that encourage advocacy and activism for teenage girls.
  • Provide college and career ready workshops for upperclassman.
